Bubi: Do you think of life as an act in a play?
Ramazanoglu: It must be since it ends. The visible part of it ends anyway. Is there more to it or do we get another role later I couldn't not know.
Bubi: Do you believe in life after death?
Ramazanoglu: I don't know. My beliefs are relative. I never accept anything absolutely except for reality.
Bubi: But what is reality?
Ramazanoglu: I believe reality is what is learned last. The only event that has no "why's" or "how's".
Bubi: Let us come back to your sketches. You say you sketch on bed sheets. Do you think this is significant in anyway?
Ramazanoglu: I want my material to be in contact with me. Canvas is not suitable for this so I draw on old and used bed sheets. In the case of canvas. I keep it at home for months, until they become a part of me, before I can start sketching it.
Bubi: How would you define the art of painting?
Ramazanoglu: Painting is lines. Lines are infinite, so are paintings. My sketches never end. Painting is also colour. Colours are lines too. A million lines are formed each time the brush makes contact with canvas. My sketches do not have a particular subject. I sketch as I see. Just like someone who draws maps. I draw the maps of people. I am against techniques and applying formulas in art. It is against my sense of art to sketch a movement of form with the right light and color. For example I do not feel close to renaissance art. I see the product of this period as made to order and excessively planned. But if you ask me what a good painting is I do not know the definition. I have no background in the subject. I can just say it embraces me or it does not embrace me. I must unite with it. I must get lost in it.
Bubi: How do you evaluate your work today?
Ramazanoglu: Usually artist think of what they will create. For example there is the nude image or nature. The artist gets worked up accordingly and creates. He does what he does willfully. I start with no specific thought in my mind, no image. Just like fortune telling. Walls are the screen. I would especially like to draw on large walls and produce large sized works. I sketch as see. As I think I see a face and try to improve upon it. Another face appears. I start another sketch and my screen never ends. Then I start thinking of what I have done, it is then that realize I have been sketching.
Bubi: 1985 yılında sizinle röportaj yaptık. 16 yıl oldu. 16 yıldır gelişmenizi yakından izliyorum. Tekrar sizinle röportaj yapma şansına kavuştum. Nurçin hanım arada yaptıklarında bir değişiklik oldu mu?
Nurçin: Var. Malzeme farkı var. Biliyorsun önceleri sadece erkeklerdi. Şimdi, hayvanlar, bitkiler, binalar, denizler, dağlarda girdi ağaçlar da girdi.
Bubi: Nurçin hanım, bu farklılık kendiliğinden mı oldu?
Nurçin: Tabii!
Bubi: Örnekler misiniz?
Nurçin: Önce dağları gördüm. Başlangıçta yüzlerdi, erkek ve kadın yüzleri, kadınlar ama sonra geldi. İlk gördüğüm erkekler yüzleri, keşişler, cellatlar, engizisyon işkencecileri bütün çarşaflar, bezler onların yüzleri ile doldu.

Bubi: Bu arada bir takım ........ aldığınızı da hatırlıyorum.
Nurçin: Evet, bu yazıları da gördüm, bunlar çizilen resimlerle ....... ama belki bir şey ima ediyorlar. Ben bilemem. Hiç bir zan bilmek için bir çaba sarfetmedim.
Bubi: Yazılar sonra çoğaldı mı?
Nurçin: Devam
etti hep. içer... hakkında biraz bilgi verir. genelde bilmiyorum. Mesela:
"Öyle şeyler var ki, Sana öyle şeyler verdim ki, yaratılmaya razı
geldin. sana öyle şeyler verdim ki olmayı sen istedin." veya
............."Seni iyi ki manastıra kapatım, Kont Ester Hazi."
Bundan başka dön... he yere, her yöne, her zamana, her şekle dönüşebilir.
Bubi: A...dayız mesela ne ifade ediyor?
Nurçin: Bunlara bakmam lazım ki size söyleyim, mesela emir var: "Kalk, otur ve çiz, hiç durma."...................
Bubi: Resimlerinizde biçimleme, mont... olarak bir ilerleme var. Daha r..... bugün bu firki çalışmalarınız nasıl etkiliyor. .............................................
Nurçin Yeni malzeme alıyorum,.... kalem, pastel kullandığım yeni malzemeler. Hiç bir malzeme gördüğümün aynen t.... ettiremiyor. Gördüğüm o kadar detaylı ki, bunları çizebilecek ne yeteneğim, ne de malzemelerim var. ...............Ben yazdıklarım hakkında bir fikir beyan edemem. Gördüklerim hakkında hiç yorum yapmam, bana müsaade edilen bu, haddim değil. Örneğin ............
